Movie viewers are consumed by details and innuendos throughout the move. It is consuming, almost an overload for movie watchers; it is mind boggling. Leaving the movie, one feels exhausted from what they just witnessed; what was that? Did you get it? Those were some of the questions I heard from the audience as I was leaving the theater. This movie holds the viewers' hostage; you are glued to the screen. Inception is packed with action, drama, romance, experienced actors, and a complex storyline that has you thinking the entire time.
Inception jumps from one dimension to another. The movie jumps from reality to a "Dream State. At first, it is hard to catch onto what is happening; the action and thrill are intense and gradually elevate to a point where viewers are jumping out of their seats.
Leonardo DeCaprio, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, as well as the other actors are excellent! The acting is full of emotion. Each actor is present in scenes that go from love making to furiously attacking one another. Viewers wonder how each person can endure the drama. The actors not only were required to change their emotions but also to be capable of acting mentally ill, physically ill, or physically hurt.
One of the things that made this movie so successful, was the use of special effects throughout the entire movie. The director and special effects team was able to move entire cities upside down. They converted bridges and wall structures from three dimensions to one dimension; they created symmetrical views that mirrored each other. They reversed peoples lives jumping from the present to the past to the future. And they inserted tiny little details, clues, that the astute viewer noticed and added to the mystery and science fiction elements of the movie.
At times the movies is confusing. The attentive viewer realized that the entire movie is a giant mind puzzle. If you aren't into stretching your imagination or able to closely follow a story line, do not see this movie.
The basic storyline is that Dom Cobb (Leonardo Decaprio) is a skilled thief, not a traditional thief but a thief that steals peoples thoughts and ideas. He gets in trouble when he messes around with stealing ideas from powerful people and is identified as a corporate fugitive. He is offered one more chance to redeem himself and this is where the other players come in with the constant mind games and dangers that are present to Dom Cobb. The weird spin to the movie is going from reading peoples minds to learning how to implant ideas into peoples minds. Ideas that they act upon and they are not always good ideas, often for his or others benefit. That sets the storyline.
Once a viewer realized the rules of inception the movie becomes mind boggling and almost curious to attempt or believe inception might actually be possible. The end of the movie is puzzling for one main reason; the audience is left to believe their own opinion of what happened. Most of the time when watching movies I can't stand cliff hangers but, the movie Inception stimulates your thinking and has you leaving the movie theater consumed with thought.
Overall I felt as though the movie Inception was a very well written and planned theatric movie. I enjoyed the mind puzzling situations and how the idea was not completely unrealistic. Christopher Nolan did an outstanding job of not giving away the surprises that lurked around every corner throughout the entire movie. He executed the strategy of having a trail of clues to slightly indicate what would happen next; but just when you think you know BAM, a random surprise occurs. Nolan picked great actors for each character role and uses each of that actors strength to the movies' best interest as well as never expecting more than that actors' own ability.
In my opinion is a fantastic movie that was created by an incredible director! I would most definitely recommend watching this film to my friends as well as anyone who wants their thinking challenged at the movie theater. The plot has left every viewer I know mind boggled and attempting to understand more and more of the video. Inception is a special movie that is fully capable of making viewers have a desire to watch the film more than once. It is a great movie and if a person has not seen it I would highly recommend watching this film on your next movie date or whenever you have some spare time.
